Form\u00e5let med bes\u00f8get var at monitorere projektet, samt at deltage i en workshop omhandlende advocacy og kommunikation.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a longer trip with overnight stay in Kathmandu, we arrived at Pokhora, where Children Nepal (CN) has an office, on Tuesday, September 18. Here we were first welcomed by the staff, after which we held a status meeting and talked about the last practical details of the visit and workshop with Shiva, Ram and Dumanath, who all work in CN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dib.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/markogdrivhus-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1555\" width=\"373\" height=\"279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dib.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/markogdrivhus-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.dib.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/markogdrivhus-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dib.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/markogdrivhus-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dib.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/markogdrivhus.jpg 2040w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 373px) 100vw, 373px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The next two days went with visits to the project villages as part of the monitoring. Thus we visited on Wednesday and Thursday together with the Shiva villages of Phallapani, Lewade and Gunjara. Here we first met with the local people in the villages, and got to talk with them about the project in relation to challenges, among other things, lack of water, and progress. At the meetings it was told that in the villages a functioning&nbsp;<em>agriculture steering group has been set up<\/em>, and that they were well in the process of establishing organic farming. Thus, they had built plastic greenhouses, planted various fruit trees, established compost piles, and produced organic fertilizers and bio-pesticides. After the meetings, we were shown around the villages, where we saw the different things that had been built and planted. Overall, we were very impressed with everything that had happened and by the local people's motivation and joy for the project. So it was really good days - and they were only made even better by the absolutely beautiful surroundings, welcoming locals and the (very) warm weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dib.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/advocacyworkshop.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1556\" width=\"355\" height=\"272\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dib.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/advocacyworkshop.jpg 493w, https:\/\/www.dib.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/advocacyworkshop-300x230.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 355px) 100vw, 355px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the workshop on advocacy and communication, facilitated by external consultant Prashad, was then held. Here they worked hard and engaged in problem analysis and the design of an action plan, and it was nice to see how active and participating CN was in the workshop. Overall, the workshop was a success and allowed for some really good debates, just as we and CN got some good insights into the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday and Tuesday we met in the office with Shiva, Dumanath and Ram, the head of Children Nepal, where we discussed various things regarding the project, including budget, next training and project visits, etc. On Wednesday and Thursday the bus rode back to Kathmandu and from there on to Denmark. All in all, it has been a really good and educational trip. We have gained many good insights - both in relation to the project's progress and challenges and in relation to the advancement of the project. We have been greeted by hospitable Nepalese everyday and have had some absolutely fantastic weather for almost the entire trip with lots of warmth and clear mountain views. Her blev vi f\u00f8rst taget godt imod af medarbejderne, hvorefter vi holdte et statusm\u00f8de og snakkede om de sidste praktiske detaljer i forhold til bes\u00f8get og workshoppen med Shiva, Ram og Dumanath, der alle arbejder i CN. De n\u00e6ste to dage gik med bes\u00f8g i projektlandsbyerne som en del af monitoreringen. S\u00e5ledes bes\u00f8gte vi om onsdagen og torsdagen sammen med&nbsp;Shiva landsbyerne Phallapani, Lewade og Gunjara. Her m\u00f8dtes vi f\u00f8rst med den lokale befolkning i landsbyerne, og fik en snak med dem om projektet i forhold til udfordringer, bl.a. mangel p\u00e5 vand, og fremskridt. P\u00e5 m\u00f8derne blev det bl.a. fortalt, at der i landsbyerne var blevet oprettet en fungerende&nbsp;argriculture steering group, og at de var godt i gang med at etablere \u00f8kologisk landbrug. S\u00e5ledes havde de bl.a. bygget plastikdrivhuse, plantet forskellige frugttr\u00e6er, etableret kompostdynger, og produceret organisk g\u00f8dning og bio-pesticider. Efter m\u00f8derne blev vi vist rundt i landsbyerne, hvor vi s\u00e5 de forskellige ting der var blevet bygget og plantet. Overordnet var vi meget imponerede over alt det der var sket og af de lokales motivation og gl\u00e6de for projektet. S\u00e5 det var virkelig nogle gode dage \u2013 og de blev kun endnu bedre af de helt fantastiske smukke omgivelser, im\u00f8dekommende lokale og det (meget) varme vejr. Fredag, l\u00f8rdag og s\u00f8ndag blev workshoppen om advocacy og kommunikation, faciliteret af den eksterne konsulent Prashad, s\u00e5 afholdt. Her blev der arbejdet h\u00e5rdt og engageret med problemanalyse og udformning af en handlingsplan, og det var sk\u00f8nt at se, hvor aktive og deltagende CN var i workshoppen. Overordnet var workshoppen en succes og fik \u00e5bnet for nogle rigtig gode debatter, ligesom vi og CN fik nogle gode indsigter i forhold til projektet. Mandag og tirsdag m\u00f8dtes vi p\u00e5 kontoret med Shiva, Dumanath og Ram, der er chefen i Children Nepal, hvor vi diskuterede forskellige ting vedr. projektet, herunder budget, n\u00e6ste tr\u00e6ning og projektbes\u00f8g mm. Onsdag og torsdag gik turen med bus tilbage til Kathmandu og derfra videre til Danmark. Alt i alt har det v\u00e6ret en rigtig god og l\u00e6rerig tur. Vi har f\u00e5et mange gode indsigter med tilbage \u2013 b\u00e5de i forhold til projektets fremskridt og udfordringer og i forhold til advokeringen af projektet. Vi er hverdag blevet m\u00f8dt af g\u00e6stfrie nepalesere og har haft noget helt fantastisk vejr stort set hele turen med masser af varme og klart udsyn til bjergene.
